Rat problems?

Rat Inspection today in Alwoodley, Leeds. The black bits you can see are not Rat droppings but tiny blobs of bitumen. However, after a very careful inspection, there were a few droppings there as well. The main problem the customer has is a sewage pipe is either blocked or cracked. We advised him to get a professional drain expert to determine the problem initially and we also advised that we could fit a non-return valve to stop any further rodent activity. We fitted a baited trap also to see if the rat problem is current and not a past problem.

Rat investigation

Visited a customer this morning who have heard gnawing coming from their loft. Its a new build property so proofing if any is normally minimal. Found evidence of a solitary rat who has been visiting but not as yet nesting. No food traces, marks and hardly any poop but a large hole near the rafters (not good for a new build property). Set a trap with Nutella (NO POISON) and together my customers and i will monitor the result. Told the customer to speak to their builder about proofing the access hole for the rodent. Customer very satisfied with our investigation work.

Woodlice not nice

Although unsightly and generally unwanted these pesky little earth-dwelling crustaceans do not pose any public health risk. However, we totally understand the need to treat infestations of residential and commercial premises and the good news is our method is safe to humans and other wildlife. Like most crawling insects, Woodlice thrive on damp and humid conditions so your first step as a customer would be to try and reduce the damp and the humidity in your property. We can treat the affected areas with a diatomaceous earth powder which will stick to the critters and dry out their moist shell bodies and over a short period of time kill them.

The treatment would probably have to be repeated around every six months if they are still managing to get into your property but this is a low-cost treatment so rest assured the problem can be monitored, contained, and dealt with without causing a financial headache to you or your business.
